Raphel Essien, known in the showbiz circus as 'ANAMON' has
openly describe the trend in Ghana music as worthless. He believes we are
headed to 'nowhere' if this trend continues.
Explaining his point,he said most countries use their native language in presenting their
music but it is not the case in Ghana. He believes its an outsider
should be able to grasp the origin of a music by hearing a few
lines,ideally in a native language.
This,he
argued that it does not say he wants our music to be rootsy but wants
it to have a piece of our culture. He attributed this as the main reason
for the decline in cassette and c.d sales.
The
ace Kumasi rapper has therefore realeased a piece with ATUMPAN which he
believes has all the qualities a good local music should have in
Ghana. He calls it 'GBOLO'which is translated to mean 'ashawo',produced
by one of the city's finest Black Tiger and video shot in Kumasi and
Accra.
